The German automobile manufacturer, Audi is ready to grace the Indian market with its upcoming model A5. The company is placing the A5 model above the Audi A6 sedan. Audi will be presenting its ninth model to the world in the same year.
The looks of both A5 and S5 are alike. The manufacturer has implanted a sculpted bonnet at the front while at the center signature hexagonal grille is there. The LED daytime running lights (DRLs) are integrated with shiny twin barrel LED headlamps. Audi A5 and S5 cars get fastback template. Both the vehicles have a gliding roofline into the boot which gives them a glossy profile. Below the windows and across the side profile there is a wavy shoulder line. This out of the ordinary trait gives it a sporty character. With the split LED tail lamps at the back of the A5, you might also get the feel of Audi A4 from it.
The difference which the German manufacturer has made in A5 and the S5 the cars are the front and rear bumper designs. Also, S5 is equipped with a quad exhaust setup, whereas, the A5 buyers must satisfy with a twin exhaust setup.
If we talk about the interior of the automobile, the cabin of the A5 is like that of the A4. Whole of the dashboard and the standard Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel gets AC apertures over it which resembles its previous model under the brand-name. The other distinction which has been made in both the cars is in the interior, the cabin of the A5 comes wooden inserted, while aluminum panels are used in S5.
A three-zone automatic climate control is used in Audi A5 and the sportier S5. The front passengers and the third one for the rear seats get two zones in the vehicles. The display of Audi A5 gets MMI screen (infotainment system) along with the media, vehicle settings, maps. For the smartphones, the auto manufacturer company has installed Bluetooth connection for connectivity purpose. But, the buyers are deprived of the touch functionality.
The extras which the company offers include Apple CarPlay and the Android Auto. But, the infotainment system of the S5 model comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Talking about the mechanical terms and values, company has incorporated a 2.0-litre diesel engine in Audi A5 which is able to produce a power of 190PS and a torque of 400Nm. The gearbox of the vehicle is a 7-speed dual-clutch and is automatic, which empowers the front wheels.
Whereas, a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine is installed in the sportier S5 and it produces 354PS of power and 500Nm of torque. An 8-speed dual clutch gearbox is coupled in the S5 so that all the four wheels get power via the Quattro drive system. The S5 can run from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.7 seconds as claimed by the brand. They also stated that the A5 can achieve the goal in 7.9 seconds.
Also, the Audi A5 has a top variant, which is A5 Cabriolet. It would be its soft top version. Engine and the power of its top model are kept the same as per the standard A5, that is 190PS. Quattro driving system is used in Audi A5 Cabriolet. For this model as well, the manufacturers claim the sprinting of the car in 7.8 seconds from 0-100kmph. You can operate the soft top on the Cabriolet with a pull switch, it can be retracted in 15 seconds and takes only 18 seconds to close.
You must spend around Rs55 to Rs60 lakh if you are thinking to buy the Audi A5. Whereas, the price of the S5 is Rs75 lakh and that of the A5 Cabriolet is expected to be Rs80 lakh.
If we talk about the competitors of the Audi A5, right now there is not any rival of the supercar in the market, but, its price range can disturb the selling of the BMW 5-series, the Volvo S60 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
